Dernier & Hamlyn Pugin pendants and lanterns are based on designs by Augustus Welby Pugin who became the 'high priest' of the Victorian Gothic revival which reintroduced pointed arches, buttresses, tracery windows and other Gothic elements into architecture and interior design in the 19th century. Pugin was also responsible for collaborating with Sir Charles Barry on detailing the Houses of Parlament after the disastrous fire of 1834.
Dernier & Hamlyn Pugin fittings can be seen in the Lord Chancellor's residence, the original fittings were restored in our workshops and new replacement fittings are in the Peers' Robing Room at the Palace of Westminster.
