A brief History of Dernier & Hamlyn.
From 2000
Sadly on the 27th November 2000, Peter Hall passed away very suddenly. Peter's contribution to Derniers could never be expressed fully in words. His passion for fine lighting and his dedication to his life long career have always been an inspiration to everyone in the company. He was a true gentleman in life as well as business and everyone who knew him sincerely misses him.
Despite the very sad passing of Peter his influence and family name continue as his son James along with Peter's technical protégé, Brian Spiking, led a management buy out team along with Jeremy Quantrill, Mark Harper and Steven Walker, to buy the company back from the Denmans group.

Dernier & Hamlyn today
In January 2001 Dernier & Hamlyn received the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen for the 'Manufacture and Restoration of Bespoke Lighting'. This is an honour that has been accepted and dedicated to the memory of Peter Hall and one for which we are all immensely proud.
In April of 2001 our factory and Head office moved to Croydon.
