All the way through this process strict quality control standards are enforced and regular production meetings are held with our designers to ensure that there is a complete and accurate interpretation of the working drawings. With the exception of the manufacture of glass all processes are carried out in house. Before finishing, the whole fitting is assembled and checked for quality control and to ensure (in the case of replication) that a faithful reproduction has been achieved.
At this point in the process clients are invited and encouraged to visit our London factory to see first hand their fitting being made.
When all components have been made and fitted they are then put into the finishing shop. This process includes polishing followed by the final finish. With hundreds of finishes available and the capacity to produce custom finishing, including Gold leaf we can complete the fitting down to the final detail.
The final process is the wiring and installation of lampholders. At Derniers we specialise in using state of the art light sources and technologies in our fittings.
We can incorporate anything from non-maintained emergency lighting packs to high definition cameras and audio microphones within the light fittings. This can allow a wonderful interior to remain unspoilt by these otherwise visible items.
The final electrical testing is completed to the highest possible standards and to conform to the current regulations of the country of which the fittings are bound.
Many of our manufacturing processes remain unchanged since we were first formed and it is these time-honoured skills combined with 21st. century technologies that puts Dernier & Hamlyn ahead of its competitors.
